Hockey fans shower rink with 15,000 plush toys in heartwarming holiday event

HENDERSON, Nevada - In a spectacular display of holiday spirit, hockey fans in Henderson, Nevada, orchestrated a unique and heartwarming event during a Silver Knights hockey match.

During the seasonal donation event, aptly named the "Lucky Launch," fans were encouraged to hold onto their plush toys until the first goal was scored.

Once the inaugural goal was achieved, an avalanche of teddy bears and other stuffed animals descended onto the rink, creating a whimsical and surreal scene. The game had to be briefly paused to clear the ice, but the endeavor proved immensely successful.

The Silver Knights organization reported collecting over 15,000 stuffed animals, more than doubling the previous year's collection.
